The Tall Penis Dance

One of the many events that take place during the Penis Festival of Tyrnavo, is the "Tall Penis Dance". The dancers come out in full uniform, and start dancing around. they then bring a pole and erect it in the center of the dance area. the pole has ribbons and each dancer will grab a ribbon. This resembles the maypole dances that I have seen on T.V.

The Tall Penis Dance has changed over the years

The pole in the center represents an erect penis. The ribbons that the dancers hold represent the paternal connection we all have with the penis. The actual dance has remained the same for hundreds of years. However, the location has changed recently and it is no longer held in the central square of Tyrnavo. The dance has been moved to Profiti Ilia, the same place where the "Penis Picnic" is held. This changed was the result of the main square becoming too Crowded. Pree food is given at the picnic for all visiters.
